Shapiro -from Los Altos, CA -He's a townie from the East End of Long Island; a lifelong performer with Shakespeare and rhythm tap dancing in his past and Americana music in his present; a one-time resident of Austin, TX, now combing the beaches of sunny San Diego; a Soul Singer and a Song Writer; a slow writer and a dog owner; a founding member of Odell Fox; a defensive driver, a highway regular, a ghost; a low-mood monster and a mediocre meditator; a food nut; a DylanPrineWelchBrowneYoungWaits wannabe, soon-to-be. Wait and see. Eric Long -from Valley Ford, CA -SSinger-songwriter Eric Long’s music is fundamentally folk, with deep ties to early country, roots and blues music. His songs pull from the same cloth as Jerry Jeff Walker, John Hartford and Jimmy Buffet alike: occasionally funny, often rich with depth, and always entertaining. NPR’s All Songs Considered has hailed his voice as carrying a “timeless timbre that sounds well traveled, self-reflective and pure,” while Relix called his last LP “easy to listen to and easy to love.” "His work resides at the heart of what Woody Guthrie was talking about when he asked and answered whose land this is. By listening to him, one gets the sense that he knows you, that he’s heard your stories and felt your struggles and understands your highs and your lows. He, like so much else, was made to be shared, made to be cherished, made for you and me." - For the Folks Eric has opened for the Grammy artists Fantastic Negrito, Shawn Colvin and Marc Cohn as well as acoustic and country music greats Doug MacLeod, Guy Davis and Josh Turner. Aviva le Fey -from Oakland, CA -Aviva sings heart songs – some for love lost, and others for humanity forgotten – with a tone and cadence that somehow conjures both the vintage pop of the Fifties and the dark, dreamy sounds you might hear coming from that haunted backwoods bar in 1990s Twin Peaks, Washington. She offers a frequency of hopefulness, a frequency to cry to, a frequency that begs you to dig a bit deeper. Her songs are honest and endearing, bold and restless, easy to listen to and sometimes hard to hear. Aviva’s music invites you to look into the dark cracks of everything – it can be intimidating, but as we know that’s how the light gets in. Aviva is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from the Bay Area, and has traveled far and wide to share her songs and play music with friends. Recently, Aviva has supported John Craigie, Rainbow Girls, and Marty O’Reilly and the Old Soul Orchestra. She is a proud child of Oakland’s Long Road Society. |
