Zpextre -from Oakland, CA -Zpextre (pronounced “zip-X-tree”) has lived a complex life. He spent his youth in the Bay Area immersed in the Punk Rock/Skateboard scene of Mabuhay Garden. After moving to the LA area for medical school he co-founded and was the vocalist for Bovine Keeler, a short lived New Wave band. Back in the Bay for medical residency, he found himself in the mix with The Mission School of Artists, occasionaly playing avarnt garde sets at art openings. To this day he remains a part of the Futurefarmers Art Collective. Wanting to expand the availabiity of live music in Oakland, he and his wife owned the Uptown Nightclub for 13 years until closing at the onset of the Covid pandemic. Zpextre has been playing music all his life, but seldom stepped into the light, other than the occasional improvisation set. If you ask his younger self why he never put himself out there, he’d say, “I play music for myself, maybe someday after I’m gone, people will discover it”. But in 2019 he began testing the waters and released a few singles which received positive reviews. While extremely grateful for the ability to provide medical care when the Covid pandemic hit in 2020, seeing so many people die before they could live out their dreams made him realize he wanted to put his music out to the world while he was still around! On Friday June 27th Zpextre will be performing publicly for the first time. Please join him as he ventures into the unknown and explores dreams that have lived deep in his heart for many years. In 2025 he compiled his first album Time Is Elastic, a 10 song CD so far only made available as an online promotion. For this show, he will be giving away CDs to the first 25 people through the door! The Odd Numbers -from San Jose, CA -Some have described The Odd Numbers (Dave Baisa, Dave Miller, John Cummings) as Mod Music, while others call them Skate Rock , and for good reason. This trio of High School friends have been rockin’ the California Skateboard community since 1988. There was a time when it seemed like you couldn’t pick up a skate video without hearing an Odd Numbers song. Energetic and determined, these guys are the real deal. DIY old school style, playing parties, clubs and most recently opening for Flogging Molly at the San Jose Civic Auditorium... Their songs are reminiscent of The Jam and Elvis Costello. Room 308 -from Oakland, CA -Room 308 is born out of a common phenomena in the skateboard world, that is, many skaters are musicians also. The locals at Alameda Skatepark are no different. They’re some of the coolest peeps you’ll ever meet. Chill homies who are solid and aren’t di—s if you aren’t as good as them. Though, Rippin’ on this terrain is a bonus. Their songs are smooth, tight and authentic; expressing life through music. sabel - Vocals Tom - Guitar Josh - Bass/Vocals Gilbert - Guitar Spencer - Drums |
