Upon releasing his debut album in 2024, Alex began his run at solo performance, eventually meeting Zephyr Wells and Micah Aguilar to form the group. While beginning to break their way into the Bay Area music scene, Alex continued to write, refining the way his music could convey his perspective of the world. By October, he had written enough for the group to drop their first EP, “Days When”. Upon gaining more traction from the release, the band picked up Mason Olivera, rounding out their sound and leaning towards heavier indie rock. Alex’s writing style became focused in Midwest Emo, although despite such, could only end up writing grunge reminiscent of Title Fight. This current music style blends his fast paced bedroom pop inspirations with slower show gaze overtones, creating the iconic Dog House sound. Alex also has extensive experience in local booking, independently bringing local artists into DIY Spaces and Venues. These skills were further refined through The UC Theatre’s Concert Career Pathways program, interning in Front of House Administration. Indigo Elephant -from Oakland, CA -While Indigo Elephant began as a one-off performance for a local talent show, it quickly turned into a long-lasting ensemble for thoughtful, genre-crossing indie tunes. The Oakland-based band, comprised of Julius Pasion (drums), Cliff Yang (guitar, bass), and Brenden Phung (synth, guitar) has since grown into a dynamic act, defined by their emotional clarity and melodic instincts. Whether playing to intimate rooms or large festivals, Indigo Elephant blends the raw honesty of indie rock with the smooth textures of indie pop, from 2010's inspired dance rock to nostalgic 80's ballads. Their upcoming single, “Don’t Wanna See It (feat. Mare),” drops July 18th. The track explores the heartbreak of watching someone you care about spiral out of control, backed by shimmering synths and yearning harmonies. Prior to that, they released their standout 2023 EP While We Were Away, an emotionally textured project that marked a turning point in the band’s sound. -julius, cliff, and brenden Colonel Macabre -from San Jose, CA -bay area anti-genre since 2020 recorded between 2020-2022 in san jose & san mateo credits released April 1, 2022 written & composed by cody graham produced / recorded / mastered by drake cristobal @ rose ave. additional production / recording by matt davis @ ghost kitchen vocals, guitar, melodica & banjo by cody graham backup vocals on track 1 by elizabeth phillips keys on track 2 by drake cristobal percussion on tracks 2 & 3 by jake kissner percussion & bass & organ on tracks 4 & 5 by matt davis lead guitar on track 5 by matt davis vocal harmonies & kazoo on track 5 by drake cristobal |
