Formed by singer-songwriters Miles Gordon and Daniel Bromfield who met in Eugene, OR in 2012 and upon finding themselves in San Francisco decided to combine their love of country music into a band with a clear and simple credo. Country Risqué performed its first show in February 2022, with their debut album Doe-Eyed Loverboys & Saints produced by the legendary Sonny Smith (of Sonny & the Sunsets) out now on Rocks in Your Head Records. Defined by the coffee-and- chocolate contrast of Miles Gordon’s rich, formally trained vocals and romantic lyrics with Bromfield’s dark humor and deadpan singing style, Country Risqué explores queer love and disillusionment in the language of classic tear-in-my-beer honky-tonk music. Country Risqué has grown its numbers since its inception and currently features Richard Moog on lead guitar, Caleb Pepp on drums, Forest Reid on the lap steel, and Oscar Garcia on bass. Their sophomore release is in progress and cooking to be just right. Rose Vaughn -from New Orleans, LA -Rose Vaughn brings her brand of Honky Tonk music to small stages and dive bars around New Orleans. Her sassy, unapologetic vocals have garnered attention in an ever-growing community of country/americana songwriters. Her blend of two-stepping rhythms, soulful storytelling and wry humor gives her music a sound that is both timeless and fresh. Keep an eye out for Rose and her band in a bar near you. Josiah Flores -from San Francisco, CA -Part-time poet turned melodic storyteller, Chicano singer/songwriter Josiah Flores puts music to the parts of life most tend to hide from. From the foothills of south San Jose to the foggy avenues of San Francisco, he calls the Bay Area his home. If one were to sit in a dimly-lit corner of their local watering hole, hunched over a beer, they would find Josiah’s songs sitting down next to them. |
