Glow Scout -from Southern CA -Glow Scout belongs to a classic DIY-rock tradition that stretches back to the jangly college rock of the '80s and the underground sounds of the '90s, but their rich, vibrant, restless sound belongs to the present. Formed in the wake of their departure from Southern California in 2010, founding members Rob Jackson , Angela Rizk and Long-time collaborator Mike Calvert recorded Glow Scout's lo-fi debut We're Lost but Making Good Time in a farmhouse in the Central Valley on their way to the S.F. Bay Area, where the band is now headquartered. Glow Scout's ethos is to not be constrained by genre, the one continuous element being the DIY spirit. Between 2010 and 2016 they released 9 albums with a rotating cast of contributors. The stand out album, Art, was released in 2014 on Ductape Records. Following a 7-year hiatus, a new wave of inspiration struck in 2023. Long-time collaborator Mike Calvert joined as a permanent member and Glow Scout hit the garage to record what would become the album The Big Let Down. Recorded DIY by the band, it was then mixed by Bill Stevenson and mastered by Jason Livermore @ The Blasting Room. This new direction goes back to their beginning, with a stripped-down urgency. Joined by new member Miguel Gomez, Glow Scout is ready to embrace their rebirth with amps turned up to 11. CuVa BiMo -from the Bay Area, CA -What do you get when 4 people who love Blur, Sonic Youth, Arctic Monkeys, Fugazi and GnR get into a room? You get CuVa Bimö. Formed via a Craigslist posting in 2023, the band almost named themselves “Craigslist Hook Up” but decided against it. Based out of Oakland and San Francisco, the band is a mix of alternative rock, post-rock, grunge and hints of shoegaze. They couldn’t decide which genre they wanted to be a part of so they took a little from each. Inspired by the “in-your-face” grunge of the 1990s, CuVa Bimö released their debut album “CB Radio” in January 2025 and released a live album, "Live At Tiki Desk" in May 2025. CVCC -from Oakland, CA -Gaudy manic pop reimagined through thrift store instrumentation for your end of the world meltdown/party. |
