With touring being an integral part of their songwriting and functionality, the four songwriters, Ben Koppenjan (Lead vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Bradley Kearsley (Lead Guitar, Vocals), Michael “Junior” Reed (Drums, Keys, Vocals), and Kalani Faith (Bass, Vocals) are set to release their sophomore record ‘Don’t Let Them Pass You By’ on October 20th, 2023. Their experience in studios and touring led the band to make an album that showcases their full musicianship as not only songwriters but also as experienced touring artists. All four members have uniquely influenced the record with their appreciation of both classic and modern music. Although most songs have been written in a stripped-back environment, such as strumming an acoustic guitar on the porch, when the album was brought to the studio the band found themselves adding a playful sonic landscape to their music. This evolution in their songwriting over several years has crafted an album that is accessible to many different kinds of listeners and has expanded on the sounds of the music scene that they came from. Small Crush -from the Oakland, CA -Small Crush began in Logan Hammon's bedroom when she was 13 years old, writing songs on her dad's old guitar and recording covers on garageband. In her sophomore year of high school, she found some friends in jazz band class to help fulfill her dream of playing her songs in a full band. Together the band began developing their indie rock sound by getting inspired by 90s alternative and early 2000s indie. In 2019, the band released their self-titled debut album on a local Bay Area label Asian Man Records, and a second full length “Penelope” in 2023. Since then, the band has supported artists like Hunny, Mom Jeans and Jeff Rosenstock out on tour. Through it all, the band has made the joy of playing music and having fun the most important thing. starbelliedbug -from San Francisco, CA -starbelliedbug is a noisy, dream rock band from San Francisco, made up of Caitlyn Davis on bass and vocals, Shaye Hesford on drums, Chris Reza on guitar and vocals and Hayden K on guitar. Originally making songs in their living room as duo, Chris and Caitlyn met Shaye and Hayden in 2025 and they began playing shows. starbelliedbug hopes to pay homage to the US and UK shoegaze scenes of the 90’s, through their dreamy guitar tones, wispy vocals and heavy drums. Inspired by bands such as Majesty Crush, Drop Nineteens, My Bloody Valentine, Hum and Catherine Wheel, they are exploring their sound and groove as a newly formed band. |
