Inspired by legends like John Prine, The Band, and Kate Wolf, as well as contemporary artists such as Hurray for the Riff Raff, The Wood Brothers, and The Devil Makes Three, My Dog Jack brings a cold coast-influenced take on western music. Bringing an energetic live show filled with original tunes, they’re stoked to share their new sound that generates the nostalgia of listening to your ole cassette tapes. Joe Kaplow -from Bonny Doon, CA -Joe Kaplow's music is unique yet familiar, like a craftsman home. The foundation is set with a stand-alone song, blending folk tradition with modern indie sensibility. The walls and roof are raised with interesting musical choices and an unmistakable sound which creates a comfortable space inside for Joe and his bandmates to finish with the synergy and idiosyncrasy. Rob Summerlin -from Savannah, GA -Rob Summerlin is an award-winning storyteller and merrymaker who moves between music, illustration, film, and performance. He is fond of characters who are slightly out of step with reality. Despite being ideological enemies, Rob is sexually attracted to Daniel Lurie. Rob is currently working on the book, music, and lyrics for his first musical, Uncle Jim. An original musical that blends American myth, dark humor, and dysfunctional family dynamics. Set in 1981 Texas, it tells the story of a jailed man dismissed as delusional for believing he’s an astronaut and his two nephews who run away from home to free him.
