The band was initially the brainchild of guitarist Michael Franzino. Franzino invited a couple Sacramento-based musicians and friends to perform with him, the result being Plan B, the band's debut album. After solidifying a consistent lineup, the band started to pick up buzz in the Sacramento scene, with their dynamic and energetic live shows getting rave reviews. Filled with frenetic, genre-jumping compositions that take turns from screamo breakdowns to ambient atmospheres, A Lot Like Birds is an explosive and dynamic group worth seeing. Sianvar Donovan Melero, Will Swan, Sergio Medina, Michael Littlefield, and Joseph Arrington. -From Sacramento, Ventura, and Las Vegas. -Sianvar is a supergroup made up of current members of Dance Gavin Dance, Hail The Sun, ALLB, and Stolas. Stolas Jason Weiche, RJ Reynolds, Sergio Medina, and Carlo Marquez. -From Las Vegas, Nevada. -Stolas is a supergroup composed of pure talent. Their material is exceptional not just because of the technical prowesses, but by the fact that the band has so much fun while playing it. Beneath the riffs and poignant lyrics, are guys simply having a good time. It is easily identifiable as well as satisfying to attach to. While Stolas is in the same vein as DGD and A lot Like Birds, comparing them isn't fair as each has their own sound and patterns of writing. Nonetheless, STolas have a crafted a lofty ride. Some songs are designed to hit with a punch, while others take cues from the likes of Deftones. Carlo, Sergio, RJ, and Jason have worked hard to give fans something they could sink their teeth into. Their material is a dense, enjoyable listen with moving lyrics. |
